El día 9 de enero se aprobó el anteproyecto de la Ley de Archivos y Patrimonio Documental de Extremadura durante el Consejo de Gobierno. Con esta normativa, se pretende establecer los derechos y obligaciones relativas al Patrimonio Documental, tanto de los ciudadanos como de los titulares de los archivos que formen parte del Sistema Archivístico extremeño.
Esta Ley tiene como objeto la creación y articulación del Sistema Archivístico de Extremadura, la regulación del régimen de organización y funcionamiento de sus archivos y del acceso de los ciudadanos a los mismos, así como el establecimiento del correspondiente régimen sancionador.
Cabe destacar que esta nueva normativa se ha estructurado en un título preliminar y tres títulos: el primero estará dedicado al Patrimonio Documental de Extremadura; el segundo tendrá como objeto regular todo lo relativo al Sistema Archivístico de Extremadura; y por último, la tercera parte establecerá el régimen sancionador.
